Ochemate is developing a series of solid sustained release scale inhibitors, and is investing R&D resources for long-term, safe and stable non-phosphorus products.

    Excellent chemical stability, and sustained-release properties. By adjusting the type and concentration of the special ingredients, the release rate of the ingredients in the scale inhibitor and their dissolution rate in water can be controlled while meeting the various performance requirements in different applications. The desired scale inhibitor concentration in the aqueous solution can be maintained for a long time.
    Automatic and constant dosage. Monitoring of the water quality and the process operation can be greatly reduced.
    Scale inhibition mechanism

    The white cylindrical in Fig is the scale inhibitor. Due to its unique network structure, it will continuously do the Na-H exchange with the H+ ion in water to form a peripheral hydration layer; meanwhile, the active ingredients in the scale inhibitor will complex into the scale cation in water, and effectively prevent the precipitation of the scale into anions, so as to achieve the scale inhibition effect.

  •  Solid Slow-release Antiscalant Caldoff® VS Siliphos Crystal
    Caldoff® is a solid sustained-release antiscalant. It can effectively inhabit the deposition of calcium and magnesium ions. There is the comparison between Caldoff® and silicon phosphorus crystal in the table below.

    Chemical Composition It is mainly composed of food-grade polyphosphate and  metal oxides necessary for human body. It is non-toxic, non-heavy metals and any other harmless. It is mainly composed of soda, phosphoric acid and calcium carbonate. There could be many heavy metals (Pb, Ba and Sr) due to impurity of calcium carbonate .

    Mechanical Strength Transparent cylindrical particles with uniform shape and high mechanical strength. Semi-transparent or opaque particles with irregular shape, low mechanical strength.
    Scale Inhibition Performance Only 1-3 ppm can reach 90% or more scale inhibition rate, and the release will be saturated automatically when the water flow stops. 3-5 ppm can reach more than 80%. If the water flow is stationary, the inhibition effect will be sharply reduced.
    Sustained Release Performance Physicochemical properties are very stable and pH value is neutral. According to different water quality, its solubility is 2-5 ppm/L at room temperature. Its release in water is automatic and appropriate. When replenishing water stops, the consumption will stop at the same time. The release speed is uncontrollable, the dissolution of the siliphos crystal is faster and if the soaking time is too long, which will affect the service life and inhibition performance. When stop using the siliphos crystal for a long time, the phosphorus content will exceed the standard in water.
    Service Life The dosage of 50 g can be used for the average family for one year. It should be replaced every three months.
    Cost  No maintenance required and no power consumption. Only 1-3 g per ton water can achieve the expected performance. Siliphos crystal needs frequent inspection and replacement. At least 10 g/t can achieve the expected performance.
