Successful Conclusion of the First 2024 Expert Committee Meeting of the Nanofiltration Membrane Industry Alliance
On January 20th, the first 2024 Expert Committee Meeting of
the Nanofiltration Membrane Industry Alliance was successfully held in Beijing.
The meeting was attended by the Alliance President, Jinde You; Vice Presidents,
Guanwen Chen and Wenjun Sun; Secretary General, Richeng Dai; experts from the
Expert Committee; and representatives from the founding and member units of the
alliance. They gathered to share and discuss the past year's work, research
achievements, and the development plans for 2024. Wenjun Sun, Vice President of
Tsinghua University, chaired the meeting.

The meeting began with keynote reports by renowned experts
and scholars in the nanofiltration membrane industry, including Yunxia Hu from TianGong
University, Xiaoming Wang from Tsinghua University, and Christina Fang from
Ochemate. They presented topics such as the development of membrane materials,
the application of membrane technology in water treatment, and industry
development trends, providing insights into the latest technological
advancements in the field. The continuous emergence of a series of scientific
research achievements indicates that China's research and application in
nanofiltration membranes are gradually reaching new heights.

Jinde You, President of the Nanofiltration Membrane Industry
Alliance, highly praised the achievements and roles of nanofiltration membrane
technology. He pointed out that nanofiltration membranes are among the most
promising membrane technologies in various applications. Significant progress
has been made in advanced water treatment, but further in-depth research is
needed on organic matter treatment, focusing on membrane pore size and raw
materials. He called on the Expert Committee to fully utilize their
professional capabilities, actively organize research activities, and establish
higher standards of supply and demand.

In response, experts from the Expert Committee,
representatives from the foundings, members, and professors from universities
such as East China University of Science and Technology, Tianjin Chengjian
University, Tongji University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing Tech University,
and Harbin Institute of Technology engaged in in-depth discussions on the
current state of the nanofiltration membrane industry, key challenges,
preparation processes, and performance of nanofiltration membrane materials.
They provided valuable suggestions for the future development of the alliance.

For the future development of the alliance, Secretary
General Dai Richeng emphasized the importance of "building platforms,
strengthening services, and promoting development." He pointed out the
need to fully leverage the alliance's platform role, increase academic exchange
sessions, focus on integrating production and research, apply mature research
technologies from universities to enterprises, and promote diversified
enterprise needs to universities. This would enhance timely research, achieve
technology transfer, and support the integrated development of industry,
academia, and research. He stressed the importance of focusing on water
treatment as the core goal of nanofiltration research and expanding its
application to more fields based on this foundation.
Moving forward, the Nanofiltration Membrane Industry
Alliance will continue to focus on the innovative development and application
of nanofiltration membrane technology in China. It will enhance communication
and interaction among member units, collaborate to address feedback from
academia and industry and provide excellent service and support. The alliance
also looks forward to more enthusiasts of nanofiltration technology joining the
alliance, promoting school-enterprise cooperation, optimizing industry layout,
achieving resource sharing, and gradually enhancing the influence of the
nanofiltration alliance. This will drive the development of a sound
nanofiltration membrane industry and market.
